Celebrating our apprentices on National Apprenticeship Week

Our apprentices have shared their stories as part of a national event aimed at promoting the positive impact apprenticeships can make on communities, businesses, and the wider economy.

Last year, we welcomed six new apprentices bringing the total number currently employed and 'earning while they learn' to 20. Each studying a range of qualifications from level two to degree's in business administration, surveying, construction, digital user experience and governance.

As part of the National Apprenticeship Week's online campaign we are sharing our newest apprentices stories about their journeys into executive support, finance, building surveying and joinery, and their plans for the future.

We are incredibly proud to have supported over 18,000 people into work and training over the last 16 years of our Livin Futures employability programme. In partnership with local primary and secondary schools, our apprenticeship pathway supports young people to gain valuable skills, knowledge, and experience while experiencing the world of work.

Graham Darby, director of housing and communities said: "We are passionate about supporting apprentices and are very proud of our apprenticeship history, and the positive contributions it has brought us all. Celebrating their successes and sharing their individual journeys into apprenticeships is an excellent way to encourage others to follow in their footsteps."

Evie Sands, executive support apprentice said: "I really enjoy working and studying in a formal workplace. My transition from school to work went smoothly, and the transformation team have made me feel very welcome. This apprenticeship has allowed me to gain insight into work life and has given me opportunities for which I am very grateful.
