Over 800 children, young people and families enjoyed fun activities whilst keeping active and healthy this summer.
Funding from our community grants supported ten partner agencies to deliver summer programme's offering sports coaching, family fun days, arts and crafts, cooking and a youth festival. A group of local children also got together to take part in a community litter pick on the Western Estate, Newton Aycliffe.
Cornforth Partnership, Durham County Council Sport and Leisure, Groundworks, Jubilee Fields Community Centre, Junction 7, Moors in the Community, Spennymoor Youth and Community Association, Trimdon Community College Association, Trimdon Grange Community Centre and Shildon Alive put on the free activities during the summer break and provided children with a healthy meal and snacks.
Malcolm Gray, our Community Investment Manager said: "Providing support and participating in various activities offered throughout the summer has been delightful. We sincerely appreciate our partners' diligent efforts in planning every event and look forward to continuing to do so".
