New door opens for West Cornforth tenant with £500 bursary

Logan Sim, aged 18 from West Cornforth is now a qualified forklift truck driver after completing a fully funded course.

Having started his working career in a local factory, Logan set his sights on progressing into a career in logistics which required formal training.

Following a referral from his Housing Adviser during a tenancy visit, Livin Futures Adviser, Lisa Newham worked with Logan to secure a £500 Northern Housing Consortium Unlocking Success Bursary to fund a 3-day forklift truck training course delivered by Regional Training Partners.

Logan Sim said: "I'm very thankful to the NHC for the bursary; without it, I wouldn't have been able to afford to complete this type of training course and I am very hopeful for the future".

Lisa Newham, Livin Futures Adviser, said: "The NHC bursary has been a huge help in providing Logan with the required skills to move into his preferred role. I had the pleasure of attending the training to see him, and it was great to see how happy he was to finally get the training he wanted."
