A huge warm welcome to our six new apprentices who joined us this September to start their careers in administration and construction.
Three newcomers (Dalton, Harrison, and Myles) enrolled on level 3 courses in plumbing/gas fitting, electrical installations, carpentry, and joinery and will benefit from a two-year 'on the job' placement with our repairs and maintenance partner Mears Group.
Holly, Ellie, and Keira join us from Whitworth Park Academy, Spennymoor, and will start their learning journey by enrolling on a level 3 business administration course and benefitting from a placement in our Customer Services Academy. The academy launched in 2022, and is designed to onboard apprentices into the organisation, the housing sector, and the world of work by giving them valuable hands-on experience in our Customer Service Centre, before moving out into the wider organisation and specialist teams.
Alan Boddy, Chief Executive said: "I am delighted to see our new apprentices join the organisation and look forward to seeing them progress. By incorporating apprentices into our teams, through our partnership with Mears, and through our Customer Services Academy, we can support them to develop valuable skills and experiences in these early stages, which ultimately will give them a head start into their careers. "
Ellie Dunn, Business Administration Apprentice said: "I wasn’t sure what I wanted to do when I left school but after hearing about this apprenticeship during a careers talk from Livin, I thought it sounded really interesting. I get to study my level 3 in business administration whilst working. Speaking to tenants on the phone or on LiveChat is one of the things I enjoy the most.”
