Case Study

Our people case study - Louie Smith, Joinery Apprentice

Louie joined us in February 2024 for work experience and quickly demonstrated a keen interest in joinery. After completing his GCSEs at Ferryhill Business and Enterprise College and volunteering at his local care home, he knew that a hands-on job was the perfect fit for his skills.

In September 2024, Louie began his joinery apprenticeship with Livin Works. His strong focus on tasks and excellent customer service skills have made him an invaluable team member. In a short time, he has been able to apply his knowledge to his NVQ Level 2 joinery course.

Looking ahead, Louie aims to complete his NVQ Level 3 in joinery and become a fully qualified joiner.

"During my final year at school I did works experience with Livin and I liked how practical the work was. Working alongside a qualified joiner I also met the rest of the team and other trades people. It gave me a feel for the role and I knew instantly it was something I could apply my skills to"
